The mission of Parents Place is to promote positive parent/child relationships and healthy development in children birth to five years old. By supporting the family as a whole, we hope to help mothers and fathers develop confidence and competence in their parenting role and to enable them to cope with the pressures of childrearing in today's complex world.

Parents Place was founded and operates on the beliefs that:

• Parenting is an important and demanding job.
  
• Parents are their children's first and most influential teachers.
• Parents want and need information and support as they raise their young children.
• Families benefit from having the companionship of other families.
• The very early years are important to children's later development.
• Programs that focus on parents and children together have a more positive impact on children's development than those that focus on parents or children alone.
